With the recession and the trending toward all things eco-friendly, many of us are left trying to stretch out the life of old items in the house. If we can’t keep using them for their original purpose we try to find new uses instead. We’ve seen computer monitors turned into planters, we’ve seen dresser drawers refurbished as wall hangings and we won’t even get into all the crazy knick knacks we’ve seen others use as bookends.
We learned how to make corkboards out of actual wine corks a long time ago and so we got in the habit of saving our wine corks. This was all well and good until we realized we had around 5 homemade corkboards in the house (seriously, how many corkboards does one home need?!) and a bucket full of wine corks still ready to be used. We could give them away as gifts… although saying happy birthday with a cork board seems a little awkward.
When we received the Wine Cork Trivets at PerpetualKid.com, we did a little happy dance and then offered the gods a sacrifice… KIDDING! But we did get really excited, finally there was another tasteful way to use all those old wine corks we’ve been saving up! We like turning something old into something new and the Wine Cork Trivet makes it almost too easy.
