Going back to your old childhood home after strangers have lived in it is a very surreal experience. In your mind the couch might be in the wrong place, the television should’ve gone on the other wall and what the heck is that ugly painting doing over the mantel where your family photos used to be?
Recently, one of our staffers learned that the home she had lived in as a child was going up for sale. After letting curiosity get the better of her she decided to check it out.
Aside from trying to look like a new home buyer while checking out her old stomping grounds, she kept her thoughts to herself… until she got to the room that used to be hers. When she was young she had the stars that you stick up on the ceilings and walls with green and blue putty (they say it’s better for your walls than tape – we say… HAH!). When she looked close enough, despite the fresh paint added, she could still see putty marks all over the ceiling. It made her feel good to know there was still a part of her in the house but she swore right then and there that she wouldn’t let her kids hang up those stars no matter how hard they begged.
Needless to say, she’s since bought her kids a Laser Stars projector. Smart move! The adjustable display features a fully animated display of stars with, or without, cloud formations. Not only does the Laser Stars projector look much cooler than the old sticky stars but you won’t be taking a putty knife to your ceiling anytime soon. Your kids will love Laser Stars and, admittedly, so will you!
